Learn About Our Legacy

For three generations Wellsmere Monuments has been a mainstay of the Boston community.  Our factory and display yard are known milestones on Washington Street and the quality of our work remains unsurpassed in the local area.


This dedication to quality started with our founder Joseph Vozzella Sr.  who earned an international reputation for his craftmanship and community activism.  His work is still visible in cemeteries, churches, and buildings in the area. In fact, when he passed away in 1972, the Boston Public Library commissioned an installation of his work as a tribute to his commitment to the community.


His oldest son John carried on his father's legacy before leaving the business to his son Joseph who remains committed to quality craftsmanship and community service.

With over 130 years of combined experience, our team will help you design a memorial for you.  We use old-world materials and tools combined with modern design applications. This allows us to create unique memorials that withstand the test of time.
